The Porter Parish Grainger Blues Festival is a two-day cultural celebration honoring the legacy of Porter Parish Grainger—a vaudeville-era Blues composer, playwright, and publisher born in Bowling Green’s historic Shake Rag community. The festival will highlight the rich traditions of Black American music and folklore through narrative stages, interviews, presentations, demonstrations, and live performances, reconnecting communities to Bowling Green’s Black cultural history and the roots of the Blues.
The Capitol is honored to host the closing concert on the final day of the festival!
