Join us at the Capitol to kickstart and celebrate an incredible community initiative with art, dance and music!   At Embody Dance, our mission is to bolster an inclusive art community where dance is a powerful tool for self-expression, creativity, and personal growth. We are dedicated to nurturing artists of all ages and backgrounds through high-quality dance education that celebrates individuality, fosters connection, and inspires a lifelong love for the art of movement. Through a supportive and collaborative environment, we empower our students to explore their unique voices while developing their craft.   All proceeds from this event will go towards the opening costs of Embody Dance’s brand new space.

WKU Film Club Presents: D(e)ad

What do you get when you have three generations of comedians in on family, and someone dies? If you guessed an independent autobiographical self-funded feature-length dark comedy, you’d be absolutely right. D(e)AD is written by and starring Isabella Roland (Dropout.tv, Sex Lives Of College Girls); and directed by and starring Isabella’s mom, Claudia Lonow (creator/showunner of How to Live With Your Parents for the Rest of Your Life, Accidentally on Purpose, Good Girls Don’t and Rude Awakening); and also the rest of their family.   Film Synopsis: Tillie (Isabella Roland), a floundering young woman and her charismatic, alcoholic father (Craig Bierko), struggle to resolve their fractured relationship in the weirdest possible way: after he dies, his ghost appears in mirrors to haunt everyone in the family but Tillie. Tillie’s sister, Violet (Vic Michaelis), mother (Claudia Lonow), grandparents (Mark Lonow and Joanne Astrow), stepfather (Jonathan Schmock), and even Violet’s free-spirited baby daddy (Nick Marini), must do everything they can to make Tillie see her father… even employing a very reform rabbi (Eddie Peppitone) to exorcize him… or else they will be plagued by this ghost forever.

brat but it’s a sketch show

We’re turning Bowling Green into Brat Green this summer!!  Part concert part sketch show, this one night only immersive comedy concert experience will have you laughing, dancing and living that life!  Presented by Vivian Sille & Kayla Mulliniks, the Capitol is thrilled to host this comedy duo freshly back to BG from Los Angeles. Vivian Sille is a 180 party gahl* born in Bowling Green and is thrilled at the chance to make their hometown laugh! While spending the last 10 years performing comedy in Chicago, Los Angeles and Detroit, Vivian whimsically satirizes not only our current culture but our past as well. An extremely silly or (sille) person, they can be seen doing impressions, sketches or giving general vibes in person or on social media apps invented before 2015 *charli xcx voice  Kayla Mulliniks believes if you make them laugh, you can make them listen. And with only one good hearing ear, she really had to listen. With a background in journalism and film analysis, comedy is the natural progression of Kayla’s wit, anger, laughter and joy. Studying in Washington DC and Chicago, Kayla has had residencies at the world famous Second City and iO theatre. Most recently Kayla’s script, “Hamster’s The Final Performance” was chosen out of hundreds of submissions for The Elysian Theatre’s Spaghetti Festival in Los Angeles, California. She is so excited to bring and enjoy the laughs to Bowling Green!     Also, join us for a preshow party at Donnas at 6 p.m!
