Ellie Sandlin primarily considers herself to be a poet. It was through this lens that she first explored the idea of Two Bodies, One Soul. Through poetry and sketches in a journal, she put words and images to the idea of two people who share more than what can be understood on the surface. Beneath us and within us is a powerful core that connects differently than even the heart or the mind. When you come into contact with someone who shares some of the essence within you, it is impossible to ignore. First comes recognition and then comes magnetism. Through this gallery of artwork, Ellie begins with the idea of Birth, followed by Becoming Self. After that, there is Recognition of the shared soul, Phasing Through, Into, Flowers Above and Connection Below, Two Bodies One Soul, and finally The Portrait of Us. This gallery of artwork is the story of connection, especially the connection that only those with an internal similarity share.
